A DASH OF CAYENNE

 

We give our minds and energies

to the daily cog of life.

 

Wake up, duties or pleasures fulfilled

Home. Then repeat the ritual.

 

We are creatures of repetitive behaviors.

Some resilient as Valerian, craggy as Sea Fennel.

 

While others waver, hesitant and delicate

As the petals of Lavender.

 

No matter if one is determined as Bindweed

or an annual wilting in relentless cold 

Life takes its toll on us all 

 

At the end of existence awaits a Garden.

Lush and fragrant with nature’s bounty.

 

Scented with Lavender and Peppermint,

With a dash of cayenne.
